

BANGALORE: Reva Institute of Technology and Management organised Shubha Vidaaya 2011, a farewell ceremony for students graduating from the university recently at Reva ITM Campus. Dr Jayaprakash Narayan, president of Lok Satta party, Hyderabad was the chief guest of the function.
Also, Dr P Shyama Raju, (chairman of Reva Group of Educational Institutions), Rana Pratap Reddy (Principal of the institute), Dr Diwakar (principal, Electrical and Electronics Engineering) and Dr Manvi, (dean, research and development) presided over the function.
On the auspicious occasion 600 students were graduating from the institute.
The students from all the departments were presented mementos and experience certificates from their respective heads of the departments.
The memento presented to the students was the statue of Vishveshwara which symbolises Shubha Vidaaya. The deserving and the interested candidates were invited to apply for the Best Graduation Student of 2011. Twenty students from eight departments of Reva were shortlisted, and all the students have been awarded with a certificate of merit for their extraordinary achievement not just in academics but also in extra curricular activities. Amongst these twenty students, two graduating students one each from the undergraduate and the post graduate streams were honoured. It was indeed a challenging task for the panel to zero in on the best graduating student.
“The remaining eighteen students were equally impressive.
Hence, the faculty felt that they had to be conferred with some award,” said Rachna, faculty member.
Best undergraduate student was awarded to Abhinav Bhagalwadi from electronics and communication engineering and the best student from post graduation was awarded to Senjith K (Master of Business Administration).
Both the students received a gold ring.
Speaking on the occasion Dr Jayaprakash Narayan chief guest of the occasion said,“ Persistence, thought and faith keep us going in our lives. Each generation is different from the other.
Treading on a path laid with difficult choices, each and every person will face setbacks and victory. Never give up is all what I have to say.”
