BANGALORE: Primary health care, especially those related to common cold, cough, fever and headache are a few among the health problems which are affecting about 80 per cent of the people across the state.
Keeping this in view, the Department of AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy) in association with Yantra Foundation will train AYUSH and Allopathy doctors as well as people in primary health care delivery system, said G N Sreekantaih, Director, Department of AYUSH.
This is for the first time that the department is taking this kind of initiative. Addressing the media on Tuesday he said:"Through this programme, we aim to make health care least expensive by providing training to people as well. Through Yoga, Naturopathy and Acupressure besides the primary health care, we aim at pain management, diagnosis and treatment of chronic illness like diabetes, cancer and even heart ailments."
Speaking about the working of the Acupressure Praveen from the Yantra Foundation said: "Diagnosis made through Acupressure is comparable with modern method of diagnosis made by sophisticated equipment and it is a therapy which one can do it by oneself requiring no cost."
