BANGALORE: Countdown has begun for the IITJEE, scheduled to be held on April 10. With less than 20 days to go, The New Indian Express will be carrying out a series to guide you in your last leg of preparations.

Founder Director of BASE H S Nagaraja says: "Consolidate what you have learnt rather than worrying about what you have not learnt."

Sharad Awasthi of Career Launcher shares tips on the strategies for the last phase of preparations: "From entire syllabus of JEE, classify each topic with respect to your confidence in the topic CategoryI: Certain topics in which you are confident and well prepared; CategoryII: topics in which you are somewhat confident, i.e. your hit rate of solving problems are 50:50 and CategoryIII: topics in which you are not confident.

"One must start with CategoryII, because this category will be having most number of topics. Arrange these topics in the order of their weightage in the exam. Start revising these topics from most important onwards and during revision, practice at least some 10 odd problems from good reference book or from previous years' papers. Category III topics can be left, as there will not be enough time for learning new concepts."

Shyam Mohan Gupta, founder director, Vidya Mandir classes, says: "Don't try and do any new problem that might confuse you as this would shatter one's confidence. One needs to maintain confidence. Revision of the preparatory series in institutes and class notes of theory is crucial during this period."
