

Disney channel announced the ‘Perry-fect’ gift for Phineas and Ferb fans this festive season — the Indian television premiere of Phineas and Ferb’s latest adventure, Phineas and Ferb: Across the 2nd Dimension at 10 pm on September 25.
Beginning this weekend, Phineas and Ferb fans will revel in special movie previews across six cities, exciting contests, a star-studded premiere and special meet and greets with Phineas and Ferb themselves in select cities, gearing up to the premiere of this season’s most awaited TV event.
“‘We are delighted to bring kids and families the channel’s original movie Phineas and Ferb: Across the 2nd dimension.
It is an actionpacked adventure full of fun, mystery, humour and is a wonderful example of Disney’s storytelling expertise, originality and creativity” said Natasha Malhotra, vice president and general manager, Walt Disney Television International India.
She added, “With the special screenings coupled with Phineas and Ferb’s first ever visit to India to promote their movie, we look forward to taking the excitement to, quite literally, a whole new dimension!” Lucky fans from Bangalore got a chance to sample all the excitement of the 2nd dimension and experienced the festivities with a sneak preview of the adventure caper, where Phineas and Ferb finally discover that their pet platypus, Perry, is a secret agent, ‘Agent P’, who battles the forces of evil almost every day.
The boys team up with Perry on an adventure through a parallel universe where they must ultimately thwart the disastrous plans of a threat bigger than the dimwitted Dr Doofenshmirtz: a parallel Doofenshmirtz, who, unlike his counterpart, is truly an evil genius with no goofy side or soft spot.
In the United States, Phineas and Ferb The Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension holds the record of 2011’s number one entertainment cable telecast and also ranks as basic cable’s mostwatched animated telecast ever among kids 2-11.
The Disney original movie will premiere on Disney Channel on September 25, 2011 at 10 am.
Fun Facts about Phineas and Ferb ‘Phineas and Ferb’, the series has been honored with a 2010 Emmy Award for outstanding writing in animation and a BAFTA 2009 children’s award nomination, apart from two Emmy nominations for outstanding original music and lyrics and outstanding original main title theme music.
The creators, Dan Povenmire and Jeff ‘Swampy’ Marsh had earlier worked together on the blockbuster show, The Simpsons.
Dan Povenmire has also worked on another superhit animated comedy, Family Guy There’s a little bit of India in Phineas and Ferb.
One of their closest friends is an India called, Baljeet.
The inspiration to introduce an Indian character in the series came from Jeff when he first worked with an Indian called ‘Baljeet’ in the UK, where he was exposed a lot to the Indian culture
