BANGALORE: Medical Education Minister S A Ramdass on Tuesday announced that the results of recently conducted PGCET of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) will released on time.

Ramdass said, “there is fear among students that there might be delay in the announcement of results in the backdrop of allegations of malpractices during exams but this will not come in the way of announcement of results and it will be done on time.” The minister was replying to Congress member V R Sudarshan who raised the issue during Zero Hour demanding stringent action against those involved in malpractices.

Ramdass also informed, a three member committee was constituted to enquire into the incident where students wrote the exam in a car and it was established that the OMR sheet recovered from the accused was original. “We are now trying to find who gave the original OMR sheet to the culprits,” the minister said.

The minister said that a new system of scanning of answer sheets immediately after the exams was introduced in the RGUHS from this year. “This will avoid ‘insertion’ of answer sheets later through malpractices.

Even if somebody inserts answersheets, they will be caught,” he added.
