There are many things we cannot control. Our fate and destiny can only be changed by retaining our purity and tuning in to the divinity called our Soul.
We must remember that when people call us names or blame us, only our Ego is affected. Our Soul is never affected. So, we must take it in the right sense and allow our purity to overrule the qualities of inertia and aggressiveness. If we react, our purity is spoiled at that moment and the reflex of self defence takes over. When this happens, we are in dire trouble. Why? Whether somebody praises us or accuses us, either directly or indirectly, there is always a cross exchange of energy.
When there is a cross exchange of energy, there is also a transfer of karma. Each time we react, we take on some karma from the other person. When we do not react, our purity acts like a lead wall and shields us from that person’s negative energy. Otherwise all that energy will rush into us. It will come and invade us in the form of vibrations. Then we feel depressed, tired and depleted of energy. So, our purity is the armour that will protect us from all kinds of negative vibrations that come to us from others. We must remember that physical proximity is not required for the transmission of such vibrations. They will transfer themselves automatically to us even when we think of a person. That is why when we pray for somebody’s welfare, though that person may be far away, our prayers reach him even across the seven seas.
Many of us are familiar with the concept of energy healing. How is this energy transferred? When we think of a person, his energy is mentally drawn towards us. We charge that energy and send it back to him and it reaches him automatically. Likewise, when you curse somebody, that curse will also reach that person. Not only will it reach him, it will bring back his negative energy and karma and give it to you. So, your curse affects him negatively only ten per cent, while the negative vibes affect you ninety per cent. When you bless somebody, your blessings benefit him ten per cent. It also brings back the goodness from him and benefits you ninety per cent.
That is why we must retain our inner purity. Not realising this, most of the time we allow it to drain away in so many ways — for example, through unnecessary talk and gossip. Whenever we gossip, our purity leaks away without even reaching the other person. It just flows back to the Cosmic Energy. So, we should never gossip. Whenever we talk, we must talk only about things that directly concern us. We can talk about spiritual things or if it is a business meeting, we can discuss business.
