Seventy-five young medical assistants performed a spectacular passing-out parade (PoP) at the Medical Training Centre of Indian Air Force (IAF) in Bangalore on Saturday. This was the culmination of six months of intensive training, including three months at Air Force Station in Sambra.

Speaking on the occasion, chief guest Air Vice Marshal Navin Rattan said: “You are leaving this place as full-fledged Air Warriors. For further training, you must utilise this time judiciously to enhance your practical skills. Keep pace with the rapidly changing world of technology. Keep yourselves abreast with recent technological achievement and advancements. Compassion, empathy and caring nature plays a very important role in your personal development.”

Leading aircraftman Dinesh won the trophy for the best all rounder while the best in trade and best in ground service trophy was bagged by aircraftman Kiran Kumar Swain. “I love the Indian Air force and I have always wanted to be a part of it. I joined the Medical Training Centre because I wanted to help people and serve them because serving them is like serving God,” said Kiran Kumar, while speaking to City Express.

The PoP was followed by the spectacular ‘Basic Life Support and Casualty Carriage Drill’ display which showcased the effectiveness of training in life saving techniques. Medical Training Centre conducts ab-initio and in-service courses for medical assistants of the IAF. This centre also conducts para-medical diploma courses in conjunction with the Command Hospital.
