BANGALORE: A park is a place where one can get away from the noise and hassles of city life. However, with promises made time and again, there are many issues plaguing the parks in the city. Will the Koramangla residents now be able to visit the park with ease? To be able to see more greenery and cleanliness this summer?
In the year 2008-2009, a work order was produced ordering play equipments to be installed in the parks which were formerly known as Wipro P ark.The matter has been raised several times but has been delayed. It was only in December, 2011 when the equipments were installed.
Although there had been a fountain installed in the park, it was made to stop functioning. There were problems concerning little children falling into the fountain. Having interviewed the people walking in the park, a senior citizen said, “There has been an improvement in the park over the past two years in terms of play equipments.”
When we spoke to the Corporator of Koramangala, Ward 151, she stated “The fund has not been released by the BBMP as yet. The amount has been dried up and the additional equipments will be installed in the near future,” assured B N Kokila.
