An effortless click interests the city

“The hectic life that we live in cities like Bengaluru, demand a channel through which we can vent out our emotions. Some go for movies, some head-bang at concerts, I photograph,” said Aditya Saha, a photography enthusiast.

The 'love to click' has engulfed many in the city resulting in them taking up photography as a full-time vocation.

Besides, workshops and day-outs, there are photowalks too. Often, on a Saturday morning, a group of people would be seen gallivanting around the city, clicking photos with their DSLRs. Bangalore Photowalk, for example, is such a group which  carries out these kind of activities to promote this art and encourage people who are interested.

“This kind of activity help in not only taking pictures together but also appreciating each others' clicks. Bangalore is a young city and changing very fast. So, we need to document this transformation as much as we can,” said Sandeep Srinivasa, a Business Development Officer who is also a part of the administration of Bangalore Photowalk.

The group was initially formed on a social networking site where the moderators invited interested people to join  their photowalks. Gradually, through word-of-mouth and online sharing, the forum has grown. Today, it has around 1900 members and the numbers are on a daily upswing.

“I was working in the IT sector and then I took an year off to dedicate my time to photography. The break extended more than a year and I never went back to my earlier profession because I found my bit of happiness in it,” said Shreeram MV, a photographer.
