Students of IISC Bangalore will put up a few plays from October 18 to 21 at Seva Sadan, Malleswaram and Alliance Francaise de Bangalore.

Timba Timba Timba Prashnachinha ...? (Hindi): The play is a black comedy in Hindi based on an award winning script of the same name in Marathi. The play explores the tendency of a cynical human society of not getting involved in the face of an adversity in public eye. What happens to people when they observe tragedy from a distance? Do people get encouraged to transform society? Or does the difficulty of the task at hand result in eventual disillusionment? Are people ready to get their hands dirty in order to react to the situation? Or does armchair criticism and status quo ensue? The answer is left to the audience.

Safar (comedy/satire in English): This play is a satirical take on the apathy against initiatives.  The setting of the play is not very important. It could happen anywhere. The hero, who is full of himself, is unable to get a grip on reality. He is blinded by his own ego and misplaced sense of importance that his status in society has given him. He is so afraid of not winning that he refuses to take any initiative. The topic is subtly debated with the help of farcical, surreal vignettes and dialogue laden with repartee and everyday conversation.
