Temples
Vijaynagar is culturally rich as it is surrounded by many old and popular temples of Bangalore. Some of the many famous temples include, Bande Maruthi Temple, Sri Kodandaramaswamy Temple, Shani Mahatma Temple, Adichunchungiri Temple and others.
As you enter the temple premises, one can hear the priest chanting holy verses. During the festive season these temples are flooded with devotees. Many youngsters and senior citizens are seen spending their evenings at these temples which are known for its serenity.
Market
The market on the service road of Vijaynagar is popularly known as the Service Road Market. It is similar to the market found in the famous Gandhi Bazaar. Varieties of products are available in this market -- flowers, fruits, vegetables, pooja items... The pooja items are mostly sold in large number as the market is located in the vicinity of many temples. Vendors in these small sheds also sell shoes, bags, cotton clothes etc. For those who want to shop for trendy attire this season, one can visit this market as it also accommodates some of the popular showrooms. This market also accommodates jewellery shops, optics, finance groups and other stores that provide services as well.
