How often do we spare a thought for our soldiers who are protecting us? How often do we pray for them? Do we remember them only when there’s a war or a calamity or during national days of significance -- Independence Day and Republic Day?

The unfortunate developments on the borders and that of a submarine have literally shaken us. These are unfortunate incidents and the gravity of grief can be felt only if we have lost some near and dear ones.

While we stand in unity as a nation saluting the sacrifices made by those serving in our armed forces, we should also start a new mission by praying for them. A simple prayer to protect them day in and day out.

The power of the prayer is known to everyone irrespective of the religion one belongs to. Can we collect all the powers in small baskets and deliver them to each and every soldier, air warrior and sailor who are protecting us? It is their round-the-clock vigil that’s gifting us a peaceful sleep. The very thought of their sacrifices should inspire us.

Every religion has its own way of offering prayers. While the ways might be different, the power of prayer always remains the same. We must begin our day offering a small prayer to all those who are guarding our nation. We must pray to God to give them more strength and peace of mind while dealing with hostile situations.

If every house can generate positive energies for our soldiers, imagine the ultimate power by which it would reach the goal. A payer has to be a continuous process and we should not pick and choose when we are in need.  A prayer has to be selfless. It should be spontaneous and a prayer should always be wrapped in positive thoughts.

How many of us think about the mental framework of a soldier posted in our borders? What about the thoughts that are engulfing his near and dear ones every day? It will be a worthwhile exercise to begin a mission in our hearts for our brothers safeguarding our nation. We must spread the prayer mission to each and every one we know so that it forms a chain and spreads the aroma to the whole nation.

A prayer is a powerful exercise and when we do it for our fellow brethren serving the nation every day, it becomes precious.

We must send across a message to all our armed forces personnel that they are in our prayers every day. It will definitely help them to undertake their missions with more confidence and vigour.
