The Aam Admi Party (AAP) that put up a remarkable show in the recent Delhi Assembly elections has started ground work to make an impact in Bangalore. The party has deployed a 600-strong team of volunteers called the Robos, for the way they work.

The party is focusing on Bangalore since it has a large number of IT firms and educated voters.

The team, comprising IIM and IIT graduates and talented people, including NRIs from various fields, will study the system of administration, its impact and role of the mafia. The team arrived last month and has been working full time.

The group will collect data by working as members of the public, without identifying themselves with the AAP. They have already conducted research on policing and the crime pattern. Emphasis is being laid on implementation of labour laws in IT firms, sources said.

Sources also said another team will reach Bangalore to see the project through. “During the Lok Sabha elections, they will let AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal raise issues that will give CM Siddaramaiah sleepless nights,” they add. They will dig out scams and raise local issues.

AAP leader Yogendra Yadav said, “We have cadres in all Parliamentary constituencies.”
