What not to wear to a brunch

When you are planning for a day out with your girls either for brunch or just some street shopping we suggest you don't over do the bling factor, keep it simple and yet stay chic. We tell you styles that are a big no no for day outings:

Ditch the denim: While you don't have to dig out your best clothes for a brunch, jeans are far too casual. Try a dress or a short skirt with a summery top. Chiffon and ruffled styles look amazing, and remember that its need to be calf length and not too revealing. Brunch should be about looking casual yet chic, so jeans and trainers just aren't right.

Go pastel: The colour that is best for a brunch is white, but look for pale and pastel colours, and make sure it fits in with the colours of your shoes and jewellery. If you really have too, try to locate a pair of high waist shorts or skirt and team them with flat ballerinas. Add soft curls to your hair and simple jewellery to add the glamour factor.

Let your hair down: When it comes to hair, wearing a bun, or an easy pony tail is not going to cut it. Find a few minutes to let your hair down and find some chic hair accessories to hold it out of your face. You could try putting a light curl in your hair and add a cute hair band.

Nail art: When you are putting in enough effort to look your best today, find the time to make sure that your nails look good. Take a few minutes to get friendly with a nail file and a manicure kit, and you'll feel so much better for it.

Be comfortable: If you going to be out shopping as well, make sure your clothes are comfortable. And specially your footwear, you never know how long it will be before you sit down again.  Chunky heels are out, as are anything too dark, although you might get away with black depending on the colour of your outfit. You can go for a pair of pale pink or yellow flat pumps.   But skip the heels if you will be out shopping.

Keep it natural: Don't go overboard with your make up. If you are highlighting your eyes, go for nude lips and visa versa. Bright lips are in vogue. You can go for orange or deep red lips depending on your skin colour. Make sure the make up is matt and not glittery. Keep the bling at bay for afternoon outings.
