This land which was earlier a hillock has now been converted into a hi-tech park with all amenities for walkers and joggers. Banagiri Nagar Park located in Banashankari 3rd Stage is more than a park for morning walkers and joggers, this park is also a hangout for residents of the areas in the vicinity of this park.
This well-maintained park is facilitated with seats to rest, paved pathways for running and jogging, lighting, dustbins and varieties of flora Lush green and quiet ambience which has attracted many visitors is just a feast for the eyes.
Appreciating the endeavour in constructing the park, Chenna Basappa, a regular visitor said, “Earlier we visited R K Layout Park which is also located in the vicinity. After the inauguration of this park, we regularly visit this park as it is very spacious and well-maintained.” Another visitor of the park, Setty DVP said, “Early morning it is mostly the MNC employees who visit the park daily. We are very happy with the initiative undertaken by the government to develop a park here on barren piece of land.” On visiting the park, one can witness children playing, senior citizens chit-chatting, young men and women walking to burn out calories. “Hundreds of visitors visit this park every day. Parks mostly are developed on a plain land. But since this park is located on a hillock it is easy for us to burn calories. I spend an hour everyday in this park,” said Yuvendra Babu, a regular visitor. He added, “Unlike many other parks, this park lacks a toilet. Since many diabetic patients visit this park, there is an immediate requirement of a toilet here.”
Speaking to City Express, the deputy chief minister and Padmanabha Nagar MLA, R Ashoka, said that he had invested approximately `2 crore to develop this park from MLA funds. “This area till date had no good parks and in view of this, we have developed a rocky area involving technical consultations as the landscaping was pretty difficult. Now people can gather here for their morning/evening walks.”
