The South-West monsoon was active over coastal Karnataka, which continued to receive heavy rainfall on Friday.
Kodagu, Udupi, Shimoga, Dakshina Kannada, Haveri and Uttara Kannada districts reported widespread rainfall.Very heavy rainfall was recorded in Kollur and Nilkund (22cm each); Bhagamandala (11cm); Ankola, Kadra, Sirsi, Karwar and Agumbe (9cm each); Siddapur, Banavasi , Hosanagar, Humchadakatte and Tirthahalli (8cm each).
The Met Department has forecasted heavy onshore winds from westerly direction at most places over coastal Karnataka. Heavy rains are expected in North Interior Karnataka and ghat areas of South Interior Karnataka over the next two days. In Bangalore, the weather is expected to be cloudy with one or two spells of light rains.
