The online options entry for the seat selection process of CET-2013 might begin from the third week of July, as the final list of approved MBBS seats will be announced on July 15.
A source in the Medical Education Department said, “The Medical Council of India will announce the final list of approved MBBS seats on July 15 for all medical colleges across the country. Only then, the government will get to know the status of approved seats in medical colleges. The seat matrix can be prepared after information from MCI is received.”
“On Wednesday, the MCI approved the 150-200 MBBS seats in Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute (BMCRI) for the 2013-14 academic year. The intake has been approved for Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), Hubli and Mysore Medical College as well, but the approval of government seats in Bidar Institute of Medical Sciences and Raichur Institute of Medical Sciences is pending,” the source said.
The KEA will conduct a meeting to work out the practicalities of starting the seats selection process.
“Without the seat matrix, the online seats selection process cannot be started. The last date to complete the admissions process for medical courses is August 31 as per the SC order,” a KEA officer said. The COMED-K has planned to start the seats selection process for medical courses in private colleges from July 2.
