'Rolling Frames Short Film Summit' begins

More than 17 short feature films were screened at the ‘Rolling Frames Short Film Summit’ that was kicked off here on Saturday. Popular Kannada short films like ‘Sulle Satya’, ‘Agadavaru’ and the silent film ‘Love at First Sight’ were shown at the film festival as soon as it was inaugurated by National Award winning film director T S Nagabharana.

Short movies of other languages like Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Brazilian and English were also among the 17 films that were shown. The list also included four silent films.

Harsha Shetty G R, Convener of the summit said that the aim was to bring short film professionals together from all over the country.

“We wanted to bring best short filmmakers together and exchange thoughts with each other and share it with enthusiasts through their seminars,” he said.

B Suresh, national award winning director for his off-beat film ‘Puttakkana Highway’ shared his experiences of being a filmmaker and winning a prestigious award for his work.

Theatre person Aravind Kamath addressed the importance of low budget filmmaking and shared his experiences while making his movie ‘Innuendo’ while journalist and theatre person Prakash Belawadi spoke of concepts and advantages of making a short film.

Another 20 short films in Hindi, English and Brazilian are scheduled to be screened on March 10, the concluding day of the summit.
