Guru Nanak College celebrated their annual sports day recently.

The annual report was read by S A S Felix, physical director and highlighted the achievements in sports. Many students were successful at State and national events. Vijayashankar (I MBA), who is a Ranji Trophy player, will be representing Chennai Super Kings, Kamalesh (I MBA), Rohit (I MBA), Vijaya Anand (III B Com) have been selected for the University of Madras cricket team. These were some students who were felicitated.

A ‘pyramid show’ by a team of 60 students was the highlight of the event which exhibited different methods of harnessing physical and mental capabilities.

Chief guest Lakshmipathy Balaji, cricketer, highlighted the importance of sportsmanship and setting goals during one’s college years.

The Sports Council honoured six of the retiring staff members including Principal Dr Marlene Morais. Prizes and certificates were distributed to the winners of various events and for events held for the staff members.
