ICICI to let you bank via Facebook

‘Pockets by ICICI Bank’ is an app which enables customers to carry out wide range of banking services on Facebook. This app allows customers to perform transactions like splitting and tracking group expenses and share them with friends on Facebook. It can be used to send messages to remind friends on pending payments. Transferring funds to their friends without knowing their bank account details is also possible. It will allow creation of electronic coupons that can be redeemed by friends on www.icicibank.com. Other services like recharging mobiles, booking movie tickets, opening fixed deposits, ordering cheque books, getting mini statement of account, credit card details and demat holding details can be done. To access app login to Facebook, go to official ICICI Bank page, click and register on ‘Pockets by ICICI Bank With a new 4 digit pin. Once registered, it will add to application to user’s profile under the section “Apps”. A four digit pin is to be used for subsequent logins into apps.

Sygic navigation app for Android is now free, but for iOs still priced at Rs 1,399 ($27.99).

Sygic is a Turn-by-Turn voice guided navigation and uses maps data from MapmyIndia, an Indian digital map and data, GPS, location-based services solutions provider. It can be used for offline navigation as the maps are stored in phone memory. It comes with 3D map data, turn-by-turn voice guided navigation, speed limit display and audio warning, road incident sharing with other drivers, SOS/help to find assistance, spoken street names in American and British English, interactive maps, POI, pedestrian navigation and stopwatch for outdoor activities. Alternative routes to choose from and car audio integration through Bluetooth or cable can be done.

Know if your mail was read

You need to download and install Signals Chrome extension. Signals icon will be  appear at the end of the browser’s address bar  This is where all your notifications will be shown. Next login using your gmail account at app.getsignals.com/install/Google. Now you are ready to track mail sent from Gmail. When you send any mail, you need to tick new Signals button at the bottom of the compose box. This will allows you to track the email. Once recipient receives and opens the email, a notification will appear on the Signals icon. Simply click Signal Icon to know details like when it was opened, the location it was opened at and how many times it has been viewed. Signals can be integrated with many tools like Gmail, Google Apps, Outlook, and Outlook.com  Right now this is now not supported on mobile device.

BBM for Android and iOS not so soon

There were glitches in releasing a cross platform messaging app by BBM last week and it won’t be arriving this week either. BBM for Android was supposed to launch on September 21 and a day after for iOS, but it got off a bad start. Further there was problem with an unofficially leaked BBM version on Google play that made Blackberry pull off both applications. As per BlackBerry, BBM app won’t be come to Android and iOS until next week, until they block the unofficial BBM for Android App.
