BANGALORE: Exceptionally imagined, tightly scripted, powerfully told short films have moved audiences for decades.

A collection of such movies shortlisted from entries received from across the world will be screened by Suchitra Film Society as part of the Bangalore International Short Film Festival 2014 from August 22 to 24.

 Filmmakers, students and professionals from world over are encouraged to send their work (short fiction only) that will be curated by some of the best minds in the industry and screened on the occasion.

 Additionally, the festival will feature filmmaking workshops and panel discussions with thought leaders in the industry.

The film society hopes that BISFF-2014 will enable young filmmakers to learn from masters, collaborate with other creators, and offer the film-loving public a visual treat like none other. The last date for submission of entries is August 2. The submission fee for non-students is set at `500 per film, while for students, it is `250 per film.

Only fictional short films, with running time (including end credits) of 30 minutes or less, are accepted. Films should be in the format of a DVD screener if submitted by hand or a video link if submitted online.

 Submissions will be considered in two categories - student and non-student. Students should submit a copy of their present identity card or a letter from school as proof to avail the facilities under the category.

The film must have been produced after January 1, 2013 for all competitions.

Entires in all languages are accepted.
