BENGALURU:: Actor Jai Jagdeesh, who has been busy campaigning for his wife actress-and-producer-turned-politician Vijayalakshmi Singh, was hospitalised following giddiness.
Vijayalakshmi Singh is contesting from Kaveripura ward in Govindrajanagar constituency on a BJP ticket. Jai Jagdeesh has been relentlessly campaigning on behalf of his wife from the past 15 days. On Friday, he fell during door-to-door canvasing. He was admitted to Shobha Nursing Home. Hospital staff said that Jagdeesh, who is a diabetic, is now recovering.
Cash, Sarees Seized
Election officials have seized Rs 11.6 lakh in cash and around 334 sarees meant for distribution during the elections, till Friday. Nineteen cases of alleged violation of the model code of conduct have been registered by the authorities concerned. Of the 19 cases, six each were registered in Bengaluru South and Bengaluru Central, five in Bengaluru North and two in Bengaluru Urban. While money was seized from South and Central limits, sarees were seized in Bengaluru South.
