Lithium's Electric Cabs Promise Safety Too

QUEEN’S ROAD:Bengaluru is witnessing an unprecedented number of vehicles on the road and the environmental cost caused by vehicular toxins is for all to see.

Is there an immediate solution?  Electric-cab service Lithium thinks so. Not too long ago, the company had  organised a road show with their 13 cars touring the entire city, starting from Mahadevpura and passing through  MG Road, Cubbon Park, Richmond Road, Kormangala, Indiranagar and UB City.

To start with, the electric cabs will serve just the corporate sector. Each cab is equipped with a live dashboard which is connected to the companies’ server at all times.

This ensures enhanced safety for employees and also offers a transparent billing mechanism for the company. Most importantly, the technology is environment-friendly since there are no carbon emissions.

The cabs also have tamper proof GPS, which is kept undisclosed to the cab drivers.

The advantage of 24/7 Internet makes it possible for the software to set off an alarm immediately if a driver deviates from a designated route. An added advantage is that the commuters can communicate with the drivers without even sharing their phone numbers.

The electric taxis also have panic buttons which will be connected to the cloud computing network, communicating more than 200 parameters including remaining charge, location and detection of unauthorised passengers, to the transport departments of technology companies.

This offers a safety net to the commuter since the driver has no control over operations, bookings and more.

“There is an increasing demand for fuel every day. We have been importing fuel at a high cost. Fuel guzzling vehicles are a leading cause of pollution and hence the answer we feel is an electric cab,” says Sanjay Krishnan, CEO of Lithium Services.

“ One of the biggest operational sectors is the corporate sector. Nearly 50 per cent of the population working for this sector are females.

So the question of safety arises routinely. There is a huge demand for safe transportation in cities like Bengaluru. Our cabs have better softwares installed to address this concern,” he adds.
