QUEEN'S ROAD: Giskaa.com is an online space where you can now buy products from all the eight NorthEastern States - Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura. The online store has close to 1,600 unique products and is rapidly expanding by adding 60 new products every week.  The site will also ship internationally to its customers in Tanzania, Costa Rica, Malaysia and other countries.

GISKAA is also a platform for artisans from the North-East.

The majority of the products available are unique, handmade and eco-friendly  and they cover the spectrum of  fashion, home décor and office accessories.

You can browse and buy products like kids clothing fabrics, handmade footwear, baskets, tableware and more at  reasonable prices.

The online marketplace also includes a range of exciting ethnic food and beverage items from the region including pickles, dried vegetables, herbs and spices . The co-founder and  CEO of  GISKAA, Meghanath Singh says, “The site  offers the audience of the larger Indian diaspora, a chance to  connect and appreciate the rich and varied cultural and traditional heritage  of the North-East.”  He further added, “North-East  remains largely unexplored. It is perhaps the geographical location of the North-East that isolates it from the rest of the country. As such, many remain unaware of the rich NorthEastern culture and heritage. It was possibly this thought and the want to integrate the North-East into the mainstream Indian culture that led us to come up with  GISKAA.”

The ANTS initiative was the first online and physical space dedicated to the North-East but one more big player bodes well for a neglected artisan space packed with rich offerings.
