BENGALURU: The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), for admissions to the National Law Universities (NLUs) that went online from this year, was conducted on Sunday all over the state without any technical glitches.

When Dr Ram Manohar Lohia National Law University, Lucknow, the convener institute of CLAT 2015, announced that the test would be conducted online, some universities and students had raised objections.

For the over 2,700 UG and PG seats at the 16 National Law Universities/Schools, 42,223 students appeared for the test across the country.

City’s Aspirants

In Bengaluru, over 1,246 students took the test at the four centres. The number of aspirants from the state has increased by 20 per cent as compared to the previous year, exam authorities say.

No cases of malpractice were reported in the city. There were some minor technical problems, but authorities say that did not affect the students.

In Bengaluru, 80 seats are available for UG programmes and 50 seats for PG. Students, who took the test on Sunday, said it was easy. Students, who appeared for CLAT (PG), said that the test was not as difficult as managing time for it was.

Results will be published on May 20 on the CLAT website www.clat.ac.in

Sunaina, a student, who took the test, said, “Online mode was easier though some sections of the paper were difficult.”

Response for the first online CLAT was good. Officials were deployed at the examination centres to help students navigate the site smoothly.
