Summer Dressing Decoded

Here is how you can stay cool effortlessly as you step out in this weather

BENGALURU: We all want to wear light clothing to meet summer’s glare but here are some tips to remember while we gear up to step out of the home.

Carry a jacket

Given the Bengaluru weather, you never know when a bright day will grow cloudy so always carry a canvas or a denim jacket to make sure you don’t go from feeling too hot to too cold.

Think about essentials

If you are wearing dresses, T-shirts and summer clothes that cling to you, think of skin coloured underclothing with invisible hems because nothing as embarrassing as telltale seams under your clothing. If you are wearing strappy tops, make sure, the bra is strapless or of the same colour.

Groom your feet

If you are fond of wearing floaters and sandals, make sure, your nail polish is not chipped and your heels are well cared for.

Rethink your hair

Summer is not the time for fussy, messy hair. Think short. Or cropped if you dare! If you love your long hair, learn to braid it in unusual ways. Make knots, buns, try piled up styles...anything that keeps your hair away from your face.

Go bold

Wear bold, bright prints to stand out in the crowd and cheer your flagging spirits when it gets too hot and stuffy. White is great in summer but sometimes, you need a pop of colour.

Choose ruffles

Ruffled sleeves and hems are great summer statements to add to dresses and look girly and fun to boot.

Accessorise

Time to show off long bead necklaces and flower powered accessories. Anything that does not cling to your neck and make you sweat.
