He Worked at Grocery Shop, Scored 94 PC

BENGALURU: A science student of SGPTA Pre-University College (Deeksha Network) has shown how to succeed against all odds. Working at a grocery shop to support his family, Chetan K B secured 94.16 per cent.

Chetan, who got 565 out of 600 (Physics 95, chemistry 98, mathematics 99, biology 97, English 86 and Kannada 90), would make use of his three hours of spare time to study after his work at the grocery shop.

The 18-year-old thanks Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement (SVYM) which supported him. “Since money was an issue, they helped me enrol into SGPTA College. I’m grateful to them,” Chetan said.

“I got back home and studied for three hours everyday. My timetable was set and I maintained it all through the two years,” said Chetan, who wants pursue agricultural studies.

“People complain about having problems while studying. I believe there are no barriers if one sets a goal and works constantly to achieve it,” Chetan said.

His mother Sujatha, a homemaker, says, “As he has no father, he always wanted to study well and take care of us. His teachers guided him throughout his journey in the right direction”.
