BENGALURU: The much-delayed draft Master Plan- 2031 for the future growth of Bengaluru will be unveiled in December.
Also called the Comprehensive Development Plan(CDP), a vision document to define specific land use patterns with clear demarcations for housing, business hubs, green cover, etc is getting final touches, said Bengaluru Development Minister K J George.
The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA), which revises the city’s master plan every 10 years, has entrusted the work of preparing the document to a private company. The process which has taken about two years has come under fire from civic analysts and political parties.
George, who chaired a meeting along with Siddaramaiah to review development projects in Bengaluru, said that Master Plan-2031 would be ready next month and public responses would be invited before the plan was finalised.
The meeting also decided to bring greater efficiency in the functioning of Bengaluru International Airport Planning Authority (BIAPA) and Bengaluru Metropolitan Region Development Authority (BMRDA) by instructing the two civic agencies to prepare similar CDP for curbing haphazard growth in their jurisdictional areas.
“There are many villages under the BMRDA jurisdiction witnessing rapid development. A well-laid plan for regulated growth is needed for BMRDA and BIAPA too,” he said.
