BENGALURU: With a vision to create global citizens and leaders of tomorrow through traditional values, BGS National Public School was founded by pontiff Balagangadaranatha Swamiji of Adhichunchanagiri Math.
The trust, which runs over 350 educational institutions including medical and engineering colleges, has been focusing on basic necessities -- Anna, Akshara and Arogya (food, education and health).
Tastefully designed on a sprawling green campus, BGS National Public School is affiliated to CBSE and is one of the units of Sri Adichunchanagiri Shikshana Trust, located in Hulimavu, Bannerghatta Road. It started functioning in 2006 and has classes up to 12th standard.
With spacious classrooms, the school has a well-equipped library, science and technology laboratories, audio visual room, music room, art room, and an auditorium with a seating capacity of 1,000.
“The school’s main mission is pursuit of excellence in academics, sports, co-curricular activities and human values. We focus on instilling qualities of self-reliance, courage, self-confidence and self-esteem. We nurture students into physically, mentally, and spiritually balanced citizens with a deep sense of patriotism,” said S A Nair, principal of the school.
He says creating responsible, disciplined and secular citizens, fully aware of their social, moral and cultural obligations and commitments, is a part of the school’s mission statement.
School Highlights
Library
The school has a good library with a large collection of books, journals and magazines. This is spread over two floors and can seat more than 70. There is a separate reference section for the faculty and parents. It has a comprehensive collection of literature suitable for school level. The library is computerised.
Science Labs
The school has spacious and well-equipped labs for physics, biology, and chemistry, with all tools and apparatus required for performing various experiments. All the three labs are located on the top floor. The junior science lab is situated in the basement for the primary section.
Technology Labs
The three
technology labs cater to the needs of the students and the faculty. They are well-equipped with the latest computers, LCD projectors and screens. Twenty-four laptops come in handy for the faculty and the students.
Smart Classes
All teachers are trained in the use of Smart Boards and class rooms are the centre of attraction for both students and teachers.
Audio Visual Room
This is used for seminars, workshops and meetings. It is well-equipped with a music system, sound system , a computer and an LCD projector. It has a seating capacity of nearly 100.
PE Department
The physical education department provides outdoor and indoor games facilities, such as cricket, basketball, badminton and volleyball. The school is equipped with a multi-purpose stadium.
Music Room
The school has a music room equipped with various musical instruments. It offers a wide range of activities like vocal music, and classical and folk dances.
