BENGALURU: This pub crawl is scheduled to be held on May 13, from 7 pm to 1 am, through a number of bars and restaurants. The crowd will start with Easy Tiger, move to Russh, then Social and finally end the ‘crawl’ with an after party at the Hard Rock Cafe. At the end of it all, maybe you would’ve had a fun evening and shared good drinks with new friends.
KAOS Entertainment, Levels Entertainment and Monkey Business are jointly organising and promoting the event.
Rohit Kalro, co-founder of KAOS Entertainment, says, “This is our little attempt to bring the western culture of pub crawl to the city, a friendly social interaction.”
Kalro got the idea from colleges in the US and UK where on-campus pubs are all on a single street, and conceptualised ‘Wolf of Church Street’ along with Levels Entertainment. He plans to have an event that people can look forward to once a month.
Mayur Tekwani, co-founder of Levels Entertainment, said, “I had experienced one of the finest pub crawls in Bangkok and had to bring the concept to our city. The idea was to engage the people who are part of the event, which you don’t see very often at a regular clubbing night. Drink... network... crawl!”
Many European cities have public pub crawls that act as social gatherings for the local communities as well as tourists. These are where you make new friends and get acquainted with a new city.
In the city, the idea is greeted with mixed reaction. Kripa Rajani, student at CMS Jain University, thinks it’s “really cool” and she “wouldn’t miss it for anything”.
Surya Harikrishnan, also a student at CMS Jain University, says that since the city has several trails and walks it is only apt that a “pub city” has this event.
But Anjali Balasubramaniam, a student of Christ University, says that “it’s exhausting and a major waste of time”.
Tickets are available on BookMyShow.com at `1,000.
