BENGALURU: I am four weeks pregnant. I am on 50mcg Thyroxine. I have been recently experiencing itchy palms and soles. I wonder if hormonal changes are causing this.
During pregnancy, for some, itching is common. Apply moisturiser or calamine lotion. If it doesn’t subside, you need to consult your doctor and get a liver function test done.
I’m 36 weeks pregnant and 28 years old. On my first CBC, my platelet count was 254, now it has dropped to 124. I have been suffering from nose bleeding and gum bleeding. Also, I have a bump under my armpits. What test can I do?
Bleeding from gums and nose is common for some women during pregnancy. Platelets also tend to drop slightly. Constant check of platelet count (manual instead of machine count) is mandatory along with a peripheral smear test. Bumps under armpits are due to breast tissues, which usually occur in the third trimester and post delivery. However consult with your doctor.
Two weeks after my pregnancy test, I had minor bleeding. Now I get a lot of white discharge and feel cramps. Can you tell me the symptoms of miscarriage?
You need to do an early pregnancy scan to check the viability as it rules out miscarriage and reviewed by a gynaecologist.
