BENGALURU: Whose Bengaluru is this anyway? Everybody owns this city! No matter which part of the country or world they come from, they experience an insufferable pain while leaving this city. For those who are missing this city, the first Kannada web series is underway, which will help them relive Bengaluru days.

Director Sagar Puranik, a true blue Bengalurean, is now ready with By 2 Bengaluru, which deals with the life of five Bengalureans.

Sagar, who has directed a few government and corporate films, is now debuting as a full-fledged director with this. Speaking about the web series, he said, “The first season will have six episodes, and will be of 15 minutes each. The series will surely make one miss Bengaluru. By 2 Bengaluru is a 15-minute fun-filled absolute entertainer, which anybody can watch after a tiring day.”

Abhishek, who owns a chain of hotels, is producing the series. The production team is a mix of professionals and amateurs. Commenting about making first web series, he said, “Kannada’s digital market is unexplored. This is an attempt to make use of it to the fullest. I hope this paves way for others.”
Meghana Harikumar, who has scripted the series, said it deals with five youngsters, who are just out of college and are confused about their future. “The series has five main characters – three boys and two girls. Only one character is born and brought up in Bengaluru. Rest are from other parts of the state, who claim to be as Bengalurean as anybody else,” she said. Rakesh Maiyya, who has been associated with ‘Kannada Gotilla’, is writing the dialogues for the series with Ashwin Hassan. Rakesh says one of the leading characters in the series will converse “only in Kannada” throughout the series.

“English has been a major influence on the regional language these days. Most of them, especially youngsters, tend to mix Kannada and English while conversing. But, this character speaks only in Kannada,” he said.
The team is planning to release the web series during the first week of January on YouTube and Facebook.
