UPDATE: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Thursday said that an enquiry into the alleged incident involving assault on the Tanzanian girl has been ordered into why the police did not register her complaint immediately and to take action against erring officials.

He said that a report will be sent to the External Affairs Ministry by evening. It was sought by Sushma Swaraj, Minister for External Affairs on Wednesday.

Karnataka Government has ordered an inquiry into the Tanzanian student assault case. Karnataka Home Minister G Parmeshwara said while briefing the press.

Parmeshwara said, "no one will be protected if any lapses are found." He also added that if the Sudanese men were not involved in the car accident, the assault would not have happened.  During the press briefing, the minister said that the victim in the assault case registered a complaint two days after the incident took place.

Parmeshwara also denied the allegations made by the Tanzanian student that she was 'stripped and paraded'.

In the Tanzanian student assault case in Bengaluru, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi demanded the Karnataka Government to submit a report on the incident.

The incident took place on Hesaraghatta Road in Bengaluru on Saturday night after a Sudanese national ran his car over a 35-year-old woman resulting in on the spot death of the woman.
