BENGALURU: The central division police, who have formed five teams to nab the accused involved Thursday’s robbery at Muthoottu Mini Financiers Ltd in Mariyappanapalya, claimed have got some vital clues based on the statement of the branch manager.

A senior officer said, “We are not ruling out the possibility of an insider’s role as this is the second time such an incident has taken place at the finance firm. The gang may have planned the robbery well in advance. We have found details of the vehicle used by the gang.”

Speaking to Express, an employee of Muthoottu Mini Financiers said that robbers take advantage of the fact that the Muthoottu Finance office does not have armed security personnel. Police had, in fact, warned the authorities of the finance firm to deploy armed security as a precautionary measure. A few staffers were also involved in burglary cases and caught by the police, the employee said. Express tried to contact authorities of the firm, but they were not available for comment.
