Businessman dies, two hurt as bikes collide

A 52-year-old businessman riding a two-wheeler died while his daughter who was riding pillion and another biker were severely injured after their vehicles collided on Sirsi Circle flyover near K R Mar

BENGALURU: A 52-year-old businessman riding a two-wheeler died while his daughter who was riding pillion and another biker were severely injured after their vehicles collided on Sirsi Circle flyover near K R Market on Mysore Road on Thursday. The deceased is Sathish Pandith, a resident of Hosakerehalli. His injured daughter Swathi Pandith,(21) is a student at a private college while the other biker is Govind, (27), a software engineer at a private firm.

A senior police officer said the accident occurred around 9.30am when they were heading towards Town Hall from Nayandahalli. Govind who was allegedly speeding on his bike to his office in Domlur, rammed into Pandith’s bike, due to which the latter lost control and hit the road median.

Though all of them were wearing helmets, Pandith was declared brought dead at Victoria Hospital, while Swathi and Govind were admitted in the intensive care unit. Their condition is stated to be stable. The City Market traffic police have registered a case of reckless driving against Govind and further investigations are on. Traffic was affected on the flyover for a while due to the accident.
