BENGALURU: Students of BCM hostels in the Jnana Bharathi campus of Bangalore University on Friday staged a protest by skipping their lunch. They were demanding that the varsity authorities ensure clean toilets and hygienic canteen in their hostel. According to the students, their hostel lacks cleanliness and the authorities do not take any steps to maintain hygiene.
When contacted, varsity officials washed their hands of the issue, saying the BCM hostels come under the purview of the Department of Social Welfare, which takes care of the lodging and food.
