BENGALURU: A 27 year old woman who was molested on the street chased him down to catch the pervert and handed over to police in HSR LayoutThe incident have taken place on Friday when the woman was hit on her back badly by two bike borne miscreants in the street which humiliated and shocked her. However, she recovered quickly and chased to nab the accused- Narayanaswamy who is 55 years old.
The incident have taken place around 8pm when the woman had just come out of office and was waiting for her friend who had went to bring his bike from parking area.
Narrating the incident with Express, the woman said, "as I was waiting, two people on a bike who came hit my back badly. I fell into a shock that somebody is conveniently misbehaving with woman in open street."She continued to say that she did not want to let the pervert go away. According to her, by then her friend came with the bike and they have chased the accused for more than a kilometer. Meantime, the woman has called Dial 100 for help. After chasing for nearly 10 minutes, she has managed to cordon the bike but have held the pillion rider who tried to escape. But the rider managed to escape.
"He tried to flee from the spot but somehow I managed to nab him with the help of my friend and public. By then there were two police officials on duty and I sought their help. They came to my rescue and called HSR Layout police station. At the same time, I was busy taking to with police officials with Hoysala patrolling vehicle over phone."
Taking advantage of the situation, Narayanaswamy has tried to escape but has fell on ground injuring himself. Hoysala police by then who have reached the spot have taken him to HSR Layout police station.
The woman said, "I am living in Bengaluru since two years and I had never even heard of such incidents. I was also frightened to file complaint but police assured protection which is why I have filed complaint."
HSR Layout police who registered the case under IPC 354 (a) (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) arrested the rider, Manoj later. Police said that Manoj and Narayanaswamy both worked as brokers in sand business. Both have been produced before the court and are out on bail.
