A senior police officer said that a special team nabbed one man based on information given by the locals. The prime suspect has been identified as Jagadish alias Jagga, a resident of T Dasarahalli. The second suspect is Jagga’s friend Dayanand alias Daya, of Manjunathnagar. The identity of the third suspect is yet to be ascertained.

All three of them are habitual offenders and had earlier been arrested by Byadarahalli police on charges of murder and attempt to murder.

The three men had got into a fight with travel agency employee Pawan after his car brushed against their bike.

Pawan was coming from Jalahalli towards his home in Vinayakanagar near Chikkabidarakallu after a movie outing with friends. The bikers chased Pawan and got into a verbal altercation with him. Later they forced him to stop the car.

“Daya punched Pawan in the face after he got out of the car while Jagga stabbed him. The two then fled the spot and reached Buddhajyothi Layout. There they threatened another youth Charan at knifepoint to part with his bike. They left the knife there before escaping on Charan’s bike and he approached Madanayakanahalli police to file a case,” the officer said.

Charan, a native of Kalaburagi, had come to Nagasandra bus stop to drop his uncle. He was alone on the bike while returning home. Daya and Jagga targeted him. The bike is yet to be traced and police filed a robbery case against the gang on Monday. Charan also gave some clues about the men.
