BENGALURU: With the city police ruling out permission for the New Year’s Eve event featuring actor Sunny Leone, representative of the organisers are set to meet Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy on Monday.
Harish M S, Managing Director of the advertising firm ‘The Time Creations,’ which is organising the event, said he will meet the Home minister on Monday after which he expects more clarity on the issue.
City Police Commissioner Suneel Kumar had said the police cannot provide security as most police personnel will be deployed across the city on the night of December 31 to ensure law and order.
Permission for the event was denied following protests by pro-Kannada groups against Sunny Leone’s presence at the event. The groups had threatened to commit mass suicide and had said her presence will be against Kannada culture. Tickets for the event are still available on a website.
