In the incident that took place on February 16 at BBMP Horamavu office, Narayanaswamy had splashed a liquid, which was said to be petrol, on the office floor and had threatened that he would set the office on fire.

On Tuesday, after the video of the incident had gone viral, he had gone absconding after the incident. “Teams were formed to nab him but he was changing places. On Friday morning, he surrendered before the police. He confessed that he committed the mistake in the heat of the moment. In fact, he had asked his men to video record the arguments,” an official said. He was later sent to Parappana Agrahara Central Prison.
