BENGALURU: The Koramangala police have cracked the case where a 54-year-old businessman was shot at his office. Four people, including a businessman, who allegedly gave supari (murder contract) to kill Kanhaiyalal Agarwal, are said to have been detained.

On June 2, three men, on the pretext of seeking jobs, had barged into the office of a seeds business firm at Raheja Arcade in Koramangala 5th Block in broad daylight and fired three rounds of bullets at Agarwal, who escaped with minor injuries.

Police said the four persons were traced based on phone call records and other evidence. “As it is a clear case of business rivalry, we gathered clues about the person who gave supari to kill Agarwal. Four persons have been detained,” an officer said.

Agarwal had told the police the name of one Rajendran Agarwal, who hails from Bihar, who had allegedly threatened him over the business rivalry. The probe has also established that the attack was over the business rivalry. Though the police have cracked the case, they refused to divulge more information as the accused were not arrested.
