Doctor found dead inside washroom at Bengaluru's Narayana Health City Hospital

Hebbagodi police have registered a case of unnatural death. They suspected that the deceased injected some kind of poison into her body which caused her death.

BENGALURU:   A 29-year-old trainee doctor was found dead under mysterious circumstances at the Narayana Health City Hospital in Hebbagodi on Tuesday. The police suspect she died by suicide.  The deceased, U Arathi from Thanjavur in Tamil Nadu, was nowhere to be found for two hours inside the hospital and was later reported missing, according to sources. It was only two hours later that she was found in an unconscious state inside a washroom. 

Hebbagodi police have registered a case of unnatural death. They suspected that the deceased injected some kind of poison into her body which caused her death. However, the police added said that further details could only be confirmed after receiving the postmortem report.   

A statement from the hospital read, “A trainee doctor was found unconscious and unresponsive in the hospital premises on 16th May. She was immediately attended to and attempts were initiated to resuscitate and revive her. However, despite all efforts she could not be revived. Since the cause of death was not known,  we have informed the police and are fully assisting them with their ongoing investigation. During this difficult time, we want to express our heartfelt condolences and unwavering support to the family.”
