BENGALURU: The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) is all set to issue the final notification for land acquisition on April 30 to build an approach road to its Kaniminike apartment complex project.

The BDA Kaniminike Residents’ Forum announced this in a press release issued here on Tuesday. BDA decided to issue the notification because of the sustained requests from residents for a direct road to the project.

According to the forum, the project is spread over 50 acres of land at Kaniminike in South Bengaluru, comprising around 1,500 apartment units.

The project faces connectivity challenges and residents are forced to depend on two circuitous routes.

The residents have to take a turn near Gurukula School and navigate a narrow, one-way service road through Kaniminike, followed by a narrow railway underpass. The other is a 4.5 km detour via Hejjala–Judicial Layout, which is time-consuming and impractical for daily commuting.

In November last year, the residents met BDA chairperson and MLA NA Haris and BDA Commissioner Manivannan P and sought a road to the

project. “We appreciate BDA’s decision. A direct approach road will help those living in the apartment complex. We are hopeful of seeing tangible progress this time,” said a member of the forum.
