Warned for being irregular, welder stabs supervisor in Bengaluru

BENGALURU: A 30-year-old man from Yadgiri was arrested for brutally killing his factory supervisor in Peenya. The accused, Hanumantha alias Ajay, was a welder at a factory manufacturing plastic furniture and was irregular to work. The victim, R Rahul (30), had warned him and had asked him to look for a job elsewhere. Angry over the rebuke, Ajay attacked Rahul and stabbed him over 1o times.

The incident occurred around 10 pm on Monday. The victim was supervising other employees while unloading some raw materials, when Ajay chased Rahul with a knife and stabbed him to death near the factory. Rahul was rushed to Victoria Hospital, but declared dead on arrival. He was a resident of Brindavananagar in Karihobanahalli.

A police officer said, “The accused, who was working at the factory for seven years, was arrested. He was staying on the factory premises. Some 20 days ago, the victim had warned the accused as he was irregular to work, and after that, the latter had not gone to work.”

The victim’s brother R Rohith filed a complaint against the accused and the Rajagopal Nagar police registered the case. Rohith and their father too work at the same factory. The family is from Uttar Pradesh. Around 30 workers are employed at the factory.
