‘People important actors in economy’, Odisha Chief Secretary at Bhubaneshwar XIMB

BHUBANESWAR: One must have empathy towards people at the bottom of the pyramid to excel in business, said Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy on Friday. 

Addressing the Business Excellence Summit-2019 of Xavier Institute of Business Management (XIMB) here Tripathy advised everyone to consider people as important stakeholders of the business.

“People are important actors in the economy and hence, their interest should be prioritised in the business and corporate world,” the Chief Secretary said and added “considering people as participants would help in the sustainable growth of the business.”

President of Total Quality Management (TQM) and Steel Business at Tata Steel, Anand Sen in his address at the inaugural session spoke what market leaders do in tough times that make them better than the rest. He spoke on the concept of TQM and how robust deployment of TQM through policy management and focused methodologies transformed Tata Steel’s business.
Co-founder and CEO of Bridge i2i Analytics Solution Prithvijit Roy spoke on ‘Business Transformation and Artificial Intelligence.’

During the three-day business summit where 11 sessions will be held, topics like ‘new age technological innovations’, ‘cutting edge technology in transforming the business’, ‘dynamic business models’, ‘invest, innovate and integrate’, ‘globalisation in business’, ‘delivering proposition through analytics’ and ‘taming the automation sprawl’ will be discussed. 
Industry stalwarts and business icons from Tata Group, Aditya Birla Group, Infosys, Sequoia Fitness, Lenovo, Deloitte, IBM, L&T, Thickshake, Reliance, OYO Rooms, UTI Mutual Fund and DXC Technologies will deliberate on these topics.  
A large number of business leaders and students are attending the summit, scheduled to conclude on September 15.
