Food safety officials inspects Burger King, KFC in Twin city

Around 10 show-cause notices were issued, while 60 kg food, unfit for consumption, destroyed.

BHUBANESWAR/CUTTACK: Food safety officials on Tuesday carried out inspections at multiple food chain outlets including KFC and Burger King in Twin City Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.

City food safety officer Satyajit Patel said around 20 outlets across Surya Nagar, Jagamara, Jayadev Vihar, Nayapalli, Kalinga Nagar, Patia and other areas were raided. Around 10 show-cause notices were issued, while 60 kg food, unfit for consumption, destroyed.

Patel said the raids will be intensified in the capital city during the festive season. In Cuttack, a Wow! Momo warehouse at Bhanpur in Sadar area was sealed for allegedly violating food safety norms. The proprietor has been issued notice, said city health officer Dr Nrupendra Kumar Satapathy.
