CHENNAI: A 17-year-old girl complained against her 31-year-old husband alleging that he was forcing her to sleep with his friends and others.
Ashwini married Kumar Selvam, a film industry broker, one-and-half-years, blinded as she was by dreams of stardom.
Kumar profession involved bringing several film-extras and side actors for shooting.
Promising a similar role to Ashwini, Kumar married her against the wishes of her parents.
However, for the last one year, Ashwini has been allegedly ‘forced’ to sell herself to Kumar’s friends on his instructions.
Ashwini’s plight came to light when her mother Sabina did some investigations and found out what was happening.
She then wrote a complaint to the DGP’s office, which was later directed to the Pallavaram Police station for probe.
After police officials summoned and questioned Ashwini, she revealed that she had been ‘forced’ to have sex with Kumar’s friends.
Ashwini was also five months pregnant and was not sure whose baby she was carrying. According to the police, she intended to abort the baby.
As of now, the police have booked Kumar under the ‘Woman harassment Act’ because officially her complaint remains that her husband had tortured her to have sex with his friends but she refused to do so and sought police help.
