CHENNAI: The Madras High Court has restrained J H Murali, proprietor of Murali Cine Arts in T Nagar from releasing the Tamil feature film 'Jaganmohini' till October 15.

Justice G Rajasurya, who granted the injunction on Tuesday while passing interim orders on an application arising out of a civil suit from A Alagappan of Gandhi Nagar, also prohibited the Gemini Colour Laboratories from handing over the prints or negatives of the film to Murali.

According to plaintiff, he had filed a civil suit for recovery of Rs 12.16 lakh from the defendants due to him in respect of distribution rights of the Tamil feature film Bose. If the defendants were permitted to release Jaganmohini, plaintiff would be left without any security for the decree that might be passed on the civil suit.
