CHENNAI: It’s Christmas Eve, the sleighs are filled with toys for the world, Santa’s got a new red suit, the elves are busy but Rudolph, of the red nose fame, is on strike. And without him there’s no way Santa can give out all his presents. Rover to the rescue!

Rover is a dog, enjoying the Christmas spirit in Ireland, a smart dog who makes money, loves kids, has a brain the size of Africa and is in no mood to fly all over the world.

But persuasive powers prove otherwise and Rover along with the neighbouring kids, Jimmy, Robbie, Kayla and Victoria travel with the elf to Lapland to help Santa out of his problem.

Roddy Doyle’s Rover Saves Christmas is a hilarious Christmas book for children.

It’s a combination of nonsense literature (no seriously) and tongue-in-cheek references.

With illustrations by Brian Ajhar, Rover Saves Christmas is such a fun, funny read.

Doyle has completely let loose so don’t be surprised to find yourself laughing out loud.

As funny as the story is, the chapters are just as witty (who would have guessed).

Expect Chapter heads like, The Return of Chapter Four, Chapter Five’s Baby-Little Chapter Six, Chapter Six-The Teenage Years.

And there are some chapters that have nothing to do with the story whatsoever.

Christmas gift or Christmas read pick up Roddy Doyle’s Rover Saves Christmas and have a very merry Christmas.
