Besides, the boutique showroom that spreads across a sprawling 5,500 square feet in two floors offers a wide range of collection of gold, diamond, platinum and silver jewellery. One can also look out for a variety silverware and gift articles in the showroom.
“Tambaram is the fastest growing area, more of a catchment area. It is growing towards the other side of the main city. We are catering to customers, who come from in and around Velachery and reach as far as Kanchipuram, who would find it easy to come to Tambaram, purchase and leave,” said Radha Krishnan, Managing Director, GRT Jewellers. “Fortunately, there is no major dip in the number of customers after the gold price hike and we are receiving good response throughout,” the MD added.
For all those who cannot afford to buy heavy gold jewellery, GRT offers Stylus, a light weight gold jewellery collection. There is also the Italian Bracelleto, where a customer can design his own jewellery and it will be made in front of them with murano glass and silver beads. “Nowadays, a wide range of gold jewellery like studs and small pendants in small grams are available. We see gold as an investment, so we buy whatever is affordable,” said Renuka of Chromepet, who was busy taking a glance at the collection. Not to forget Akshaya Tritiya, customers, who book their jewellery with 100 per cent advance and takes a delivery on May 5 and 6, will be charged with the price rated on the day of delivery, if it is less.
So what if one cannot afford to buy gold jewellery with cash. There is ‘Gold Tree’ jewellery saving scheme where one can pay in installments that starts from Rs 250 and goes on till Rs 10,000.
